Charles G. "Pete" Johnson is resident in the Bridgeport, West Virginia, office. He entered Washington and Lee University in 1960. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in English in 1964 and a Bachelor of Laws degree cum laude in 1966. He had three articles published in the Washington and Lee Law Review and served one semester as its Managing Editor.
After passing the Virginia and West Virginia Bar examinations, he returned to Clarksburg to practice with the firm of Johnson and Johnson established by his father and grandfather. He practiced with his father until 1974 and then alone until l988 when Marcia Allen, Frank Simmerman and he formed Allen, Johnson and Simmerman.
Mr. Johnson's main practice areas have been litigation, workers' compensation and real estate. He has worked closely with clients in the oil and gas industry, handling mineral rights, title, lease, title examination and curative work. He also has argued many and even won a few cases in the WV Supreme Court of Appeals. In reality, he is one of a dying breed known as a general practitioner.
In 1966, Mr. Johnson began a second career by enlisting in the United States Army Reserve and was commissioned as First Lieutenant, Judge Advocate General Corps in 1970. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in l987.
