Rachel D. Ludwig is an associate in Jackson Kelly's Charleston, West Virginia, office where she practices in the Firm's Health Care and Finance Practice Group.
Ms. Ludwig's experience includes:
Assisting hospitals, health systems and other providers in mergers and acquisitions, spin restructuring, securities offerings, co‑management agreements and in developing clinically integrated networks and accountable care organizations
Providing counsel to corporate clients on regulatory, operational, and compliance matters, including HIPAA and HITECH compliance issues
Composing and reviewing operational documents including provider participation agreements, asset purchase agreements, service agreements, management agreements, operating agreements, business associate agreements and board resolutions
Drafting evidence of coverage documents, insurance contracts and insurance applications for compliance with federal and state insurance law
Assisting hospitals in developing Medical‑Legal Partnerships
Performing extensive title review, oil and gas due diligence and curative projects for land acquisitions
Ms. Ludwig currently is a member of the Young Professionals Council of the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA). She recently was a co‑editor or an AHLA publication entitled Legal and Operational Guide for Free Medical Clinics.
Prior to joining Jackson Kelly, Ms. Ludwig participated in the health law fellowship program at Squire Sanders, LLC. Ms. Ludwig is a 2012 graduate of The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. During law school, she was a recipient of the ABA‑BNA Award for Excellence in the Study of Health Law and received CALI Awards for Excellence in FDA Seminar, Health Law and Legal Research. She also served as Chief Managing Editor and Staff Editor of the Ohio State Journal of Criminal Law. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maryland in government and politics with a minor in English.
