Even With Offices from DC to Denver, Jackson Kelly is ONE Firm.

In 1993 Jackson Kelly PLLC opened its first office west of the Mississippi River in Denver, Colorado. It was and remains our outpost farthest from Charleston, West Virginia, our headquarters. Many more JK offices sprang up in Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania over the next several years, but Denver still tops the distance chart. Even with such a widespread, 10 offices, in six states, we are most importantly, ONE FIRM. What caused Jackson Kelly to make such a move? In the early days it was mining and workplace safety. Yes, there is plenty of coal and natural gas in the West, but there are also significant international metal mines (think copper, gold, silver, palladium, molybdenum, lithium, uranium, rare earths to only mention a few). There is stone, sand and gravel- a few of the commodities needed for infrastructure. The United States is resource rich and blessed. It is my hope that we continue to innovate sustainable mineral development to the point of responsible self-sufficiency. That may be a policy bridge too far, but we can at least call the glass half full. Navigating the distances among this office and others can be challenging with differing time zones. However, with the support from our various offices, we have become more diverse in our thinking and our actions to grow and evolve. We have, in essence, added value to the collective firm of Jackson Kelly. Two hundred years ago this would not be possible, but as the pandemic has taught us, we can be as far away and as close as we need to be to serve our clients.
