Jackson Kelly PLLC Recognized With the 2022 Compass Award From LCLD
October 11, 2022
Jackson Kelly PLLC is pleased to announce that the Leadership Counsel on Legal Diversity (LCLD) has recognized us with its 2022 Compass Award.
This designation represents our involvement in LCLD’s programs and the promotion of LCLD’s mission. The Compass Award recognizes Members who submit a Leader's Pledge and/or personally attended the organization’s Annual Meeting or a Leadership Summit, participate in the Fellows and Pathfinder programs, and participate in at least one pipeline program (Mentoring or 1L Scholars). Earning this designation signals Jackson Kelly’s commitment to building a more diverse organization and a more inclusive legal profession.
Jackson Kelly’s Managing Member, Ellen Cappellanti, submitted a Firm and leadership pledge and explains, “We are committed to a diverse and inclusive working environment within and to spread that to our profession throughout. We want this to be as much a part of our reputation and legacy as are our quality legal services.” Our Pledge can be found on the Firm’s website.
Jackson Kelly Associate Trinity Gray is part of the LCLD 2022 Pathfinder Program while Firm Member Alaina Crislip is part of the LCLD 2022 Fellowship Program. Several of the firm’s lawyers serve as mentors to diverse law students.

This year is notable on many fronts – we’re emerging from the challenges of the pandemic, and we have a significant history to celebrate.
We have experienced our greatest growth over the last 25 years. As our reputation grew and demand for our services spread, Jackson Kelly opened its first office outside of West Virginia in 1985, in Lexington, Kentucky. This office would be the first in our multi-state expansion, which now reaches as far west as Colorado. Along the way, Jackson Kelly’s ranks have also grown to over 300 employees, including attorneys, paralegals, and support staff. Our dedicated team is spread across several states, but we operate as one cohesive unit and are committed to providing all clients with the superior service that earned Jackson Kelly its name.
We look forward to the next 200 years.
