K. Brad Oakley is a Member in the Construction, Manufacturing, and Mining Law industry groups. He practices out of the Firm’s office in Lexington, Kentucky.
Brad’s litigation experience goes back to 2005, when he joined Jackson Kelly. Brad defends his clients’ interests in state and federal courts in Kentucky and any jurisdiction his clients’ needs take him. His clients come from various industry sectors, which highlights Brad’s talent as a quick learner. Brad thrives on meeting clients where they work and learning about their day-to-day operations. Getting to know his clients at the ground level makes Brad an integral part of his clients’ successes.
Brad’s experience is wide ranging, including representation of businesses in commercial disputes, business tort claims, defense of product liability claims, and oil and gas lease disputes.
Brad frequently represents national and local mining, construction, and general industry companies in significant MSHA and OSHA proceedings. Clients call on Brad to represent them when the stakes are high, such as accident and fatality investigations by MSHA and OSHA. In addition, he’s successfully represented operators and management individuals in MSHA 105(c) discrimination claims, 110(c) individual liability proceedings, and state licensing proceedings.
Brad also has significant experience representing healthcare providers, engineers, and other professionals in defense of malpractice claims.
Additionally, Brad’s practice includes representation of alcohol licensees in all aspects of the industry, including license applications, defending ABC citations, civil litigation, contract matters, and legislative matters.
Outside the office, spending time with his family and participating in youth sports happily consumes much of Brad’s free time. He is the current President of Eastern Little League and coaches his sons’ baseball teams. Brad takes a break from baseball by watching his daughter compete in club soccer. When Brad isn’t spending his time on the diamond or the pitch, he enjoys pushing himself in outdoor sports pursuits and relaxing on the lake with his family.
