Samme L. Gee is a Member in the Health Care, Financial Services, and Public Finance industry groups, focusing primarily on public finance, municipal and tax-exempt bonds, and government relations. She practices out of the Firm’s office in Charleston, West Virginia.
Samme has worked on issues related to tax-exempt and taxable municipal bonds, along with related governmental and economic development financings, in addition to corporate trust, legislative services, and governmental agency representation. She routinely serves as bond counsel, underwriter’s counsel, trustee’s counsel or issuer’s or borrower’s counsel.
Known for her excellent critical thinking and analytical skills, Samme is a leader in her areas of practice. She has extensive experience in the financing and development of infrastructure projects with an emphasis on water, wastewater, highways, healthcare and public facilities, and economic development projects.
She was named “Lawyer of the Year” in 2024 for Public Finance Law and Project Finance law by Best Lawyers®. Additionally, she’s been named in the Best Lawyers® Business Edition “Women in Law,” West Virginia Super Lawyers®, and Chambers USA America’s Leading Lawyers.
A collector and fan of Fiestaware – proudly made in West Virginia by Homer Laughlin China since 1936 – Samme is a member of the Homer Laughlin China Collectors Association. She’s also such a big fan of a certain springtime treat that she’s an official member of the Peeps® Fan Club.
